Delete Your Account

Last Updated: September 9, 2026

This page explains how to delete your Dromos account and the personal information we hold about you, how long it takes, and which records we are required to keep afterwards.

01How to Request Deletion

In the Dromos app

Open the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account. You will be shown exactly what is erased and what is kept, and asked to confirm.

Your account closes straight away and is permanently erased 30 days later. Signing in again within those 30 days cancels the deletion and nothing is lost — so a mistaken tap is never final.

Accounts that run an event organization cannot be deleted this way. An organization holds events, other people’s registrations, and money, so those are handled individually — email [email protected] and we will work through it with you.

By email

If you cannot reach the app, email [email protected] with the subject line Delete my account.

  • Send the request from the email address on the account. This is how we confirm the request is really yours.
  • The full name on your Dromos profile.
  • Whether you want your account deleted entirely, or only specific information removed. If you are unsure, say so and we will explain what each option means for you.

If we cannot match the request to an account, or the email does not come from the address on file, we will write back and ask before deleting anything.

02How Long It Takes

We acknowledge every request within a few working days and complete deletion within 30 days of confirming your identity. If the request will take longer, we will tell you why and give you a date.

Backups are cycled on a routine schedule, so a deleted record may persist in an encrypted backup for a short period after it disappears from the live platform. It is not restored to the platform and is not used for any purpose while it remains.

03What We Delete

When we delete your account, we remove the personal information you gave us to use the platform:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
  • Your date of birth, gender, and team.
  • Your emergency contact name, phone number, and relationship, and your blood type.
  • Your saved events, the races you follow, and any question you asked an organizer that was never answered.
  • Any medical certificate you uploaded against a registration, including one you uploaded for someone you registered. The file itself is deleted, not merely our link to it.
  • Your sign-in credentials and the device tokens used to send you race notifications.

Once this is done you will no longer be able to sign in, and your saved races and notification settings are gone permanently. We cannot undo it.

Your contact details are also removed from the rosters organizers hold for races you entered. They keep the entry and your name so the record of who ran is intact, but they can no longer email or call you about it.

04What We Keep, and Why

Some records cannot be erased simply because an account is closed. Deleting your account does not remove you from races you have already entered.

Race entries you have already made

When you register for an event, your entry becomes part of that organizer’s roster — the list they use to prepare race kits, print bibs, manage race-day check-in, and publish results. The organizer keeps that roster, and their own handling of it is described in their terms, not ours.

Payment and financial records

Registration and payment records are kept to meet financial, tax, and legal obligations, and to preserve the history of past events. This mirrors the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy. We keep them for as long as those obligations require, and no longer.

Published results

If you finished a race and the organizer published the results, your finishing time remains part of that event’s public record, in the same way a printed results sheet does.

The account record itself

Deleting your account empties it rather than removing it outright. Every personal detail listed above is cleared, but the record is kept, because the waiver you accepted for each race is attached to it and cannot be detached without destroying the waiver too. What remains holds nothing that identifies you — only a marker showing the account was deleted, and when.

Questions an organizer answered

A question you asked that was never answered is deleted with the rest of your information. One an organizer answered publicly stays on that event’s page, because the answer was written for every runner with the same question. Your name is removed from it.

If you are registered for a race that has not happened yet, deleting your account also removes your access to your entry — including your race-day QR code. Contact the event organizer before you delete, so they can arrange your check-in another way.

05Deleting Only Some Information

You do not have to close your account to correct or remove information. You can edit most of your profile directly in the Dromos app, and you can ask us to remove specific details — such as your blood type, phone number, or emergency contact — by emailing [email protected].

Some information is required for a registration to be valid. Where that is the case, we will tell you what removing it would mean before we act.

06Your Rights

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act (RA 10173), you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information, and to object to how it is processed. Our Privacy Policy sets these out in full.

If you have any question about this process, or you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, write to [email protected].
